Taking cue from TDP’s decision to quit NDA on the demand for special status to Andhra Pradesh, Bihar Chief Minister Nithish Kumar had revived the long pending issue of special status to the most backward state in the country.
Though Nithish party JD (U) was an NDA partner at the centre and in Bihar, the CM decided to pursue the issue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi seriously. The Janata Dal senior leader KP Tyagi said like AP CM Naidu, Nitish will also pursue the special status issue with Union government.
Bihar will get industrial incentives and special funds once centre accorded special status, he said the contentious issue will be a main political issues in Bihar politics in the coming months.
