In a tragic incident Andhra Pradesh’s proud mountaineer Malli Mastan babu who scaled many mountains and hoisted Indian tricolor was found dead after he went on a mission to climb the mountains between Argentina and Chile.
Mastan Babu who created many records in mountaineering went missing on March 24 and intense search operations have been conducted. Government on Friday said that Argentina and Chile heicopter teams went on searching mission at the Andes mountains for Malli Mastan babu.
All the hopes of Mastan Babu’s family members that he would return safely were dashed when the news about his death broke down. Friends and well wishers who created Facebook page ‘Rescue Malli Mastan babu’ shared the tragic news with the post “Mountains retained its favourite child.. R.I.P Malli Mastan Babu.”
Mastan babu was the fastest 7 summiteer climbing summits in all seven continents. He achieved the feat with in 172 days. Coming from Nellore, Andhra Pradesh,Mastan Babu passed out from IIT Kharagpur and IIM in 2000-2002.
His sister Dr.Malli Dorasanamma said “It appears that from the base camp he set off alone. The rain worsened after he left. He was supposed to return on the 24th, but did not. The area gets a lot of rains and floods.”
