BJP national President Amit Shah’s plan to consolidate the party in Telangana may not fructify in near future. Party senior most leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy is set join Congress. He will join the party in the presence of AICC president Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi on Wednesday.
Along with Reddy, balladeer Gaddar’s son G Surya Kiran will also join the Congress. The BJP leader has been staying away from party activities for the last two years. Reddy was not happy with the way he ill treated in the party since his joining in 2014 elections.
Reddy was one of the senior most leaders in Telangana and played key role in TDP in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh. He was one of the close confidents of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the TDP. He quit Telugu Desam in 2013 and floated own political party. Reddy merged his party with the BJP in 2014. He lost the election from Mahabubnagar Parliamentary constituency in 2014 general elections.
