Ahead of IPL series begins in April, Sunrisers Hyderabad received a rude shock. Ace batsman David Warner has stepped down as the captain of team.
Warner was facing the allegations of ball-tampering. He was one of the three players, along with Steve Smith and Cameron Bancroft, who was sent home by Cricket Australia following the ball tampering row in South Africa.
IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla said Indian Premier League will take a call on Warner and Smith’s IPL future. “In light of recent events, David Warner has stepped down as captain of SunRisers Hyderabad. The new captain of the Team will be announced shortly,” said K.Shanmugam, CEO, SunRisers Hyderabad on social media.
