In a candid chat, Mohan Babu himself revealed that political parties are running after his daughter Lakshmi Manchu to contest in politics. Though he maintained chaotic silence over his political plans for the coming 2014 elections, it could be looked in a way that Lakshmi might foray into politics.
‘Without spending a penny, you can’t wing present day elections. That is sorry state of affairs in our country now. I don’t want to contest or campaign for any political party’, said Mohan Babu, stunning his detractors. At the same time, dialogue king felt that even Lakshmi being a married woman with business interests in film industry should not enter politics. However, he left the final opinion to herself only. In the wake of Manchu family meeting Narendra Modi earlier and the iconic Gujarat CM following Lakshmi on her twitter is giving raise to doubts if she was already offered a BJP ticket to contest in 2014.
We have the likes of Jayaprada and Jayasudha who have won with vast majorities when contested for assembly and loksabha from various places in India. No doubt, Lakshmi could also come up triumphant with flying colours, but what decides all these things is time.
