BJP Wants Brother To Fight With Sister

With KCR submitting resignation of his Cabinet to Governor ESL Narasimhan, earlier this month, the Telangana State is heading towards Assembly Elections soon. And this Election is likely to throw-up many interesting Political dynamics cutting across the political spectrum!

One such interesting development is that of a Sister, who is likely to face stiff resistance from her Brother.

It is being said that Palvai Shravanthi Reddy, daughter of late Palvai Goverdhan Reddy, who died last year; will be facing an electoral contest from her cousin Brother in the Munugode Assembly segment. Munugode is the traditional Constituency of the Palvai family, from where Palvai Goverdhan Reddy was a five-times MLA. In 2014, Palvai Shravanthi Reddy, who aspired to contest from the seat on a Congress Party ticket was forced to contest as an Independent candidate, when her Party decide to offer the Constituency on a platter to its alliance partner, the Communist Party of India. Palvai Shravanthi Reddy came second in the Election which was won by the TRS candidate.

In the upcoming Assembly Election, Palvai Shravanthi is eager to contest from Munugode on a Congress Party ticket and is hopeful of winning the seat by a huge margin. But this time, the challenge is most likely coming from close quarters! According to highly placed sources in the Bharatiya Janata Party, Dr. K Laxman is keen to field Dr. Ravi Charan Palwai, a renowned ENT surgeon in Hyderabad, and cousin of Palvai Shravanthi on the Party’s ticket from Munugode Constituency. It is being said that the Party has mooted the idea with close aides of Dr. Ravi Charan Palwai, who is seriously considering the idea of contesting the Election against his Sister.

While Palvai Shravanthi Reddy will bank on the legacy of her father, late Palvai Goverdhan Reddy and popularity of the Congress Party; Dr. Ravi Charan Palwai is likely to gain from the image her carries as a renowned ENT surgeon, who had organized numerous medical camps along with his colleagues for the benefit of villagers in the Assembly segment.

While these Sister and Brother are gearing-up to take on each other, the incumbent MLA, Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy is confident of winning the Elections with a higher margin. According to a source in the TRS camp, the incumbent MLA will gain big due to the tussle between the Sister and Brother in Munugode.
