Brand Mahesh at Stake?

With his latest film, SPYder all set to have its worldwide TV premiere on Jan 14, fans are worried that the embarrassment caused by ‘Brahmotsavam’ might repeat.

Mahesh’s penultimate release, “Brahmotsasvam” became such a huge disaster at box office that movie lovers didn’t show interest to watch the Srikanth Addala directorial on even TV. As a result, the family drama fetched an embarrassingly low TRP Rating – 7.52, which is too low for the standards of Mahesh. In comparison, “Srimanthudu” recorded almost three times better TRP Rating than Brahmotsavam’s – 21.8

As SPYder became a bigger disaster than Brahmotsavam, fans are worried about its reception on TV on the eve of its world premiere. If this film also repeats the utterly poor performance of Brahmotsavam, the satellite rights business of Mahesh’s upcoming films may also take a huge hit besides putting Brand Mahesh at stake.

SPYder will be premiered on TV on January 14, this Sunday. Ravi Teja’s “Raja The Great” and Sharwanand’s “Mahanubhavudu” will also be premiering on the same day. NTR’s “Jai Lava Kusa” will debut on TV one day ahead, on Jan 13. If SPYder fares poorer than these films, it would be much more embarrassing for Mahesh.
