Central Minister’s Call To KTR on KCR’s ‘Modi Gadiki’ Remark

CM KCR’s reference to Modi as ‘Modi Gadiki’ at a public meeting continue to draw ire of BJP’s senior leaders. While BJP leaders are in no mood to take it in stride and demanding an immediate retraction from KCR or CMO, the latest to raise the issue is Union Defence Minister Nirmala Seetharaman.

While Nirmala was supposed to attend an official event related to Defense sector in Telangana state, she had tried to avoid as she was very upset with KCR’s remark on PM Modi. Nirmala herself revealed to media on the sidelines of the event that she had telephoned KTR and sought clarification. Nirmala said that KTR told her that he is in Nalgonda and said that his father wouldn’t talk Ill of Modi and it would had been a “slip of tongue” moment.

Still, Nirmala wasn’t convinced with KTR’s clarification as she apparently telephoned KTR again before boarding the flight to attend the event. Even on dais, Nirmala said to have raised the issue with KTR in personal and expressed her angst over KCR’s ‘insulting’ reference to Modi. Speaking to media, Nirmala said that a clarification should be made even if it was a ‘slip of tongue’.

The whole issue seems to be snowballing into a huge controversy between Centre and Telangana state.
