Cong Seeks EC Action Against BJP, TDP!

Leaders of the Congress Party in Andhra Pradesh submitted a memorandum to the Election Commission of India on Friday demanding action against the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Telugu Desam Party for their failure to deliver on their manifesto promises and assurances.

The Congress Party was referring to issues such as the grant of Special Status, delivery of a special package and other promises. It pointed out that both the parties had in their respective election manifestos made a few important promises and secured votes from the public that ensured that they formed the governments at the Centre and in Andhra Pradesh.

Though it does not have much stakes in Andhra Pradesh, the Congress party has been making a hue and cry in Delhi for special status to AP and intensified its action plan, a day after two central ministers belonging to the TDP – P Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Y S Chowdary – resigned from their posts.

Apparently, the Congress plan is to bring more pressure on Naidu to pull out completely from the NDA and if possible, more towards the Congress.Congress president Rahul Gandhi already said he would sign the file on granting special category status to AP soon after the UPA coming to power. It is learnt Naidu is contemplating sending a delegation of the party leaders to the Congress party to support his struggle for justice to AP.
