The Association is split into two groups and each group is making allegations against the opposite.Recently, there were allegations that MAA President Shivaji Raja and EC Member and actor Edida Sriram resorted to corruption and dwindled the donations collected during MAA Silver Jubilee celebrations in the US. Hero Srikanth’s name was also heard prominently in the corruption allegations.

An EC meeting was held immediately, where it was decided that an internal enquiry committee will be set up to probe corruption.

Meanwhile, Shivaji Raja, Srikanth and MAA Treasurer and senior writer cum actor Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao called for a press meet this morning. Shivaji Raja claimed innocence and said that he has not taken even 5 paise from MAA’s funds. “I vow on my children, I will give away all my property to MAA if I’m proven guilty,” said Shivaji Raja.

Even Srikanth strongly condemned all the corruption allegations against him. “I will forever quit the association if anyone proves me guilty. This is an open challenge,” Srikanth fumed. He also said that those who are making baseless allegations are eyeing the upcoming elections.

Finally, Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao said that when their committee took charge of MAA, the association’s bank balance was about Rs 2 crores. “Now, the balance is over 5 crores. This will become 10 crores after Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu and Prabhas’ shows in the US. We will surely work towards building an own office for MAA no matter what people say,” he said.
