It is almost a year since Dasari Narayana Rao, one of the great directors of Telugu film industry, died of prolonged illness. His memories are still haunting the film industry.
Even as Dasari’s followers got his statue installed at Filmnagar and unveiled by Telangana cinematography minister Talasani Srinivasa Yadav recently, his family members are quietly implementing plans to dispose of all his assets and distribute the booty among themselves.
According to highly placed sources, Dasari’s two children and one daughter – Aruna Kumar, Hari Hara Prabhu and Hemalaya Kumari – have divided all the properties equally and began the exercise of distributing the money among themselves.
One son is staying in the US and the second one is establishing a production house in Hyderabad. The daughter is also staying separately.
Dasari’s house, lands and farm houses have been put up for sale. Only a portion of the land at his Moinabad farmhouse where his “Samadhi” and that of his wife Padma at Moinabad farm house are located is being untouched and the remaining portion of the farmhouse is put up for sale.
His house is being demolished and is being given for development. And the other properties have already been sold out, say sources.“If everything works out, the entire exercise is completed before May 30, his first death anniversary,” sources said.
