Varudu which released in 2010 was a nightmare for Allu Arjun. The film went on to become a disaster back then and plunged Allu Arjun in to depression. In terms of intensity, Varudu is the biggest failure in Allu Arjun’s career than any others. Guna Sekhar was the director of the film. As mostly our industry credits the failure of a film (especially star films) to the director, Allu Arjun after these many years has got a chance to fine a hefty sum for the failure.
Allu Arjun had once again acted in Guna Sekhar’s direction. He played the role of Gona Gana Reddy, a guest role in Rudramma Devi. He demanded and got a whopping 3.5 Crore remuneration for the little role from Guna Sekhar. Filmnagar Sources are joking that after 4 years, Allu Arjun had imposed a hefty fine on Guna for the failure of Varudu. Gona Gana Reddy is the dream role of many Tollywood biggies like Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna.
But Guna gave the chance to Bunny before all of them. Bunny even pushed back his next film shooting (in the direction of Trivikram) to accommodate dates for Rudramma Devi. Beautiful actress Catherine Tresa will be playing the role of Gona Ganna Reddy’s wife in this period film. Both the characters of Gona Ganna Reddy and his wife lose their lives in this film.
The movie is said to be India’s historical stereoscopic 3D film in which Anushka will play the title role while Rana will play the role of Chalukya Veerabhadrudu, the prince of Nidavardhyapuram (Present Nidadavole). Guna will himself produce the movie and had roped in some top class technicians on to the project. Maestro Ilayaraja is the music composer.
