A widespread belief is that heroines who excel in female-centric projects always get similar offers, but once they fail to score, they are gone forever. Only the likes of Anushka and Nayantara have survived that scare and we have to see what “Mahanati” will do to Keerthi Suresh.
Apparently, Keerthi’s mesmeric performance as legendary actress Savitri worked out big time. And from then, many makers will be approaching her with such female centric projects only. Even if someone wants to offer her a song and dance routine kind of project, they will be hesitating if she takes up or not. Obviously, such directors won’t even approach her, says a film expert.
Coming to Anushka’s case, when her Arundathi is doing hungama, she has come up in parallel with Billa where her two-piece bikini act did more talking. That way she gave a signal to filmmakers that any type of role is okay for her. And Nayantara is also doing those glam roles alongside big Tamil stars while she’s doing female centric films as well. But Keerthi is neither into glamour, nor a lover of simple roles, so after Mahanati her prospects are unexpectedly to become slower in Tollywood.
At the moment, Keerthi has 2-3 big Tamil projects but there are no Telugu films in her hand. Her last Telugu release before Mahanati is Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyaathavasi.
