Huge dissent is unfolding across the nation from various sections over BJP’s alleged ham-handed approach.
Be it note ban or levying heavy taxes or bank scams or the rise of fuel prices, already BJP is facing a lot of heat from Aam Admi (common man). In addition to this, the party’s political approach towards the States have been widely criticized. BJP’s role in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and now in Karnataka are inviting anger of neutral people. In addition to the ongoing issues, the political crisis in Karnataka is pushing BJP into a tight spot.
It can be noted that the Governors in Goa, Manipur, Bihar and Meghalaya had invited post-poll coalitions – BJP-led coalitions – with majority numbers to form the government, in quite contrary, the Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala’s decision to invite BJP setting aside the post-poll combine JD(S)-Congress has stroked a major controversy.
Congress is now mounting pressure by demanding of reinstatement of single largest parties to form governments in Goa, Manipur and Meghalaya or to form the government in Karnataka following the precedents. Even Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son Tejashwi Yadav demanded Bihar Governor to invite his party that is being largest party in Bihar – to form the government in Bihar instead of post-poll alliance struck by the BJP in Bihar.
Taking cognizance of all these developments, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was supposed to take part of Yeddyurappa’s swearing-in ceremony, decided to stay away from it in the last-minute considering the existing flak from several sections of people.
Mamata Banerjee, Mayawati are demanding the Centre to respect the maker of constitution Ambedkar. From North to South, East to West, there is a huge dissent against Modi’s policies and political decisions. Looks like, BJP has stirred a hornet’s nest by messing the politics of Karnataka and thus seems to have scored a self goal. The outcomes of these unilateral decisions of BJP would only come to know in the near future – 2019 elections. But one thing is certain – all opposition parties are likely to unite against Modi to defeat him in 2019.
