Theatre sharing is the bigger issue these days when multiple films are hitting the marquee on the same date. Biggies are coming into an accord much earlier and then fixing their release date, but this Friday three films with equal capacity are locking horns. There is a ‘hurt’ angle to this happening, as per inside sources.
Like we already said earlier, in the case of Nene Raju Nenu Mantri targeting an 11th August release, Dil Raju is quite unhappy that Suresh Babu is coming on that date when two of his distribution ventures LIE and Jaya Janaki Nayaka is also in the race. Speaking of the same thing, Suresh Babu said that he’s also unhappy with the three-way clash. But why he’s releasing NRNM then on that date?
During the talks to reach a compromise, Suresh Babu requested Dil Raju to back off and promised him more theatres for LIE or Janaki Nayaka if he comes at a latter time. When both parties are not budging, reportedly Dil Raju is said to have pointed at budgets of these movies. They reportedly stated that LIE and Jaya Janaki Nayaka are made with superior budget than Nene Raju Nene Mantri and that’s what hurt Suresh Babu, say insiders.
Not only Suresh has locked the same date post this meeting, but he’s also allocating many theatres to Nene Raju Nene Mantri thereby threatening others. More than LIE and Jaya Janaki Nayaka, now Rana’s film is occupying in many theatres which will give a huge edge in terms of collections. Take Prasad IMAX for example, on release day they are screening 10 shows of NRNM, 8 shows of LIE and 7 shows of JJN and now think how much variation single screen allocations will see.
