A senior doctor, on condition of anonymity, explained, “Breathing problems can develop in infants if they have consumed something which can’t be digested by them, like a peanut, which could have led to the breathing trouble. Sudden death syndrome is noticed in infants, but there could be multiple reasons like an underlying disease or an inborn metabolic error, which was not detected at birth. It would be difficult to say, till the post-mortem is carried out.”
