Beating the 118 contestants from all over the world who competed for the crown, Haryana girl Manushi Chhillar made it to the top. She was crowned Miss World 2017 on November 18, 2017 by the outgoing titleholder Stephanie Del Valle. The 67th edition of Miss World was held at the Sanya City Arena in Sanya, China.

20-year-old Manushi was born to doctor parents in Haryana. Her father, Dr. Mitra Basu Chhillar, is a scientist at the DRDO, while her mother, Dr. Neelam Chhillar, is an associate professor and HOD at the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences.
