India’s Richest Man to Co-produce Mahabharata?

Mukesh Ambani, India’s richest man, is likely to venture into film production. And, justifying his financial stature, his debut project can be a Rs 1000 Cr magnum opus, “Mahabharata”.

Buzz is that Ambani will co-produce the Indian mythological epic, Mahabharata, along with Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan. A whopping Rs 1,000 Cr budget has reportedly been allocated to bring the Hindu epic alive on celluloid.

Mahabharata is Aamir Khan’s dream project, he has time and again spoken about this magnum opus. The latest reports in Bollywood circles say that Aamir and Mukesh Ambani have struck a pact to jointly produce the project. The pre-production work for the same has already begun. International writers will be roped in order to give the project a global appeal. Reports further suggest that Mahabharata will be made in 3-5 parts

On a related note, SS Rajamouli also dreams to make his version of “Mahabharata” after a couple of years. Wouldn’t it be great if Aamir ropes the Baahubali maker since both of them have the same dream, and both are perfectionists and go-getters.
