Culminating his state-wide tour that began from former President APJ Abdul Kalam’s house in Rameswaram this morning, actor Kamal Haasan just announced the name of his political party and unveiled the party flag as well at a massive gathering in Madurai.
Kamal named his party, “Makkal Needhi Maiyam”, which translates to “People’s Justice Centre”. He said that the party was for the people, and that he was committed to bring the reform that Tamil Nadu people had been waiting for. “I will seek your suggestion in my political endeavor rather than giving you speeches. Guide us to serve you,” he said at the party launch.
Kamal also unfurled the party’s flag at the event. Kamal’s party symbol is a circle of six hands holding one another with a star in the middle. Each color – Red, White and Black in the logo has its own significance and they convey the party’s ideology. The party flag, which is primarily White in color, carries the party symbol along with the name.
Delhi Chief Minister and AAP president, Arvind Kejriwal attended the inaugural event in Madurai.
