The super success of a film always makes the directors worry about their next, because they have to deliver something bigger and better than that. In a bid to achieve that feat, most directors tumble big time.
The likes of Sukumar, Maruthi and Sreenu Vaitla failed to repeat their mammoth successes when one of their films scored pretty big. Their immediate next went on to become a dud or a below-average movie at box office. And now, everyone is waiting to see what Sekhar Kammula will do after he delivered career best blockbuster with “Fidaa”.
Actually, Sekhar is said to have tried narrating stories to the likes of Mahesh Babu and Allu Arjun, but those heroes are not ready to turn leads in his realistic emotional dramas. Quitting all of his starry ideas, Sekhar has now turned to a newcomer yet again. But this time he will be launching the son of a producer through his next which is being produced by Asian Cinemas Sunil Narang.
Cinema experts feel that Kammula has cut the baggage of carrying his previous film’s success by choosing to work with newcomers yet again. But the difference between star and newcomer is the ‘collection’ from the box office, while appreciations may be the same.
