KCR-Modi Meet: What Did Modi Say?

After his plans to form a Federal Front as an alternative to BJP, Congress failed and his series of meetings with various regional party leaders, chief ministers have not yielded any fruitful results, Telangana CM KCR has met PM Modi for the first time. This is the first meeting of KCR and Modi after war of words between TRS and BJP leaders escalated in recent times on various issues including KCR’s harsh comments on Modi earlier.

Surprisingly, the meeting of KCR and Modi went up till an hour which is raising eye balls of many as this could open new political equation.

However, TRS sources quashed any such political talk between KCR and Modi saying that the meeting was strictly official and nothing more. KCR said to have discussed on impending issues related to the Telangana state which are pending with the Centre since the formation of the state four years ago.

According to a statement from the Telangana Chief Minister’s office, during the hour-long meeting, KCR took up with Modi issues like separate High Court for Telangana, central funds for Kaleshwaram project, speeding up railway projects, allocation of defence land for building new state secretariat, release of funds for backward districts and Information Technology and Investment Region (ITIR), sanction of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and setting up of Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) in Karimnagar.

KCR said to have submitted 10 memorandums to Modi, listing out various pending issues. According to the Chief Minister’s office, Modi responded positively to the issues raised by him.

KCR urged Modi to issue a new Presidential Order, incorporating the new zonal system finalized by the state government. The zonal system is aimed at ensuring 95 percent reservation for locals in employment.
