Everyone in Tollywood hails King Nagarjuna for starring in films which no other hero would have dared to even imagine doing it in his life time. Be it Annamayya, Ramadasu or Shirdi Sai or in the similar manner Rajanna or Gaganam it is possible only for Nag. That was the reason why he won 6 Nandi awards and two national awards. He is the only person to have encouraged new and creative directors. His fans hail him as the trend setter in Tollywood introducing movie lovers to new techniques and innovative story lines in his films.
However some feel that he his just following Super Star Krishna who is the only trend setter in Tollywood. He is credited with producing many technological firsts in Telugu film Industry like the cinemascope movie (Alluri Seetharama Raju), first 70mm movie (Simhasanam), first DTS Movie (Telugu Veera Levara) and introducing cowboy and James Bond styles to the Telugu screen.No one can forget his ‘Mosagallaku Mosagadu’ inspired by ‘Mackennas Gold’ or his James Bond style film ‘Goodhachari 116’. His dare devilry in taking on all powerful NTR’s ‘Dana Veera Sura Karna’ with ‘Kurukshetram’ speaks volumes of his creativity.
King Nagarjuna also is also trying to introduce new styles with his looks and action and was mostly successful in his attempts. Tollywood is blessed to have trendsetters like Krishna and Nagarjuna.
