KKR Going Back To His Roots?

Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy will be remembered as the last Chief Minister of the United Andhra Pradesh. A staunch supporter of a united AP, this former Congress leader resigned from the CM’s post and also quit Congress after the party began the groundwork for separate Telangana in 2014.

Kiran Kumar Reddy later formed Jai Samaikyandhra Party and contested the 2014 general elections. However, AP voters didn’t patronize Kiran Kumar Reddy and his party suffered a humiliating defeat by losing all the seats.

Since then, Kiran Kumar Reddy has been maintaining complete silence. Recently, there were reports that he will be joining Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena. However, the latest buzz that’s gaining strength among political circles is that Kiran Kumar Reddy may be going back to his roots and rejoin the Congress.

After the state bifurcation, Congress sank without a trace in AP and didn’t win even a single seat. Apparently, the party’s high command has initiated talks with Kiran Kumar Reddy, banking on his sincere fight for united AP.

Currently, Congress lacks a strong leadership amidst the heavyweights like the TDP and YSRCP in AP politics. In this scenario, only Kiran Kumar Reddy seems to be the worthy comeback vehicle for the Congress. Even the former CM is said to be evincing interest in joining the party that gave him the political career.
