As the elections to the Telangana assembly are fast approaching, the opposition parties, particularly the Congress party, started sharpening their weapons to attack ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi headed by caretaker chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
Notwithstanding the loud cries of KCR’s son K T Rama Rao that the opposition parties have been attacking even his family members, the Congress leaders are going aggressive in exposing the irregularities allegedly committed by the chief minister’s family.
Pradesh Congress Committee working president and former Kodangal MLA A Revanth Reddy is going all out against KCR family.At a public meeting at Kodangal the other day, Revanth alleged that KTR’s father-in-law Pakala Harinath Rao had obtained fake Scheduled Tribes certificate to obtain a government job in the forest department several years ago.
“He retired as a forest officer a few years ago and has been getting pension as an ST even now. And our chief minister talks of providing 12 per cent reservations to scheduled tribes. Will he take action against Harinath Rao for cheating the government? Will he clarify whether KTR’s wife Shailima is an Adivasi or Lambada?” he asked.
Revanth also questioned the propriety of KCR projecting his grandson as future boss of the TRS.
“In what capacity KTR’s son Himanshu was sent to Bhadrachalam temple to present new clothes on behalf of the state government? How was he allowed into the chief minister’s chamber in the state secretariat along with his friends? What is his position in the party and the government to attend the official programmes along with KCR?” Revanth asked.
Meanwhile, the Congress leaders have also circulated an election affidavit submitted by KCR’s daughter and Nizamabad MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. In the affidavit, Kavitha declared that she had no children and hence, there were no assets on the names of her children.
But the fact is that Kavitha has two sons, which is known to everybody. The Congress leaders are now making it an issue to nail Kavitha for giving a false declaration before the EC.
