Mahesh25: Story Not Copied!

Charges of plagiarism have become a major cause for concern for Tollywood film-makers. In the past too, there were many instances when Tollywood film-makers took inspiration from Korean films and other international films. However, with the ruckus created by Agnyaathavaasi, nobody wants to take chances anymore.

It is known that recently, Trivikram faced similar charges for his “Agnyaathavaasi”, wherein he had problems with both T Series and the French director. It was said that the movie heavily borrowed story and scenes from a French film “Largo Winch”.Similarly, some critics had pointed out that Nani produced “Awe” was heavily inspired from American TV series “Sybil” (2007) and Hollywood film “Identity” (2003).

These points were raised after the release of those movies. But here comes the latest story doing rounds in Film Nagar. There have been news items floating around that Mahesh Babu’s 25th film is heavily inspired by an Australian/New Zealand series. What is surprising though is that the film hasn’t hit the floor as yet. Still, strong rumours have started doing rounds, which have become cause for worry for its makers.

When a fan brought these reports to the notice of director Vamshi Paidipally, the director behind hit films like “Brindavanam” and “Oopiri” has categorically denied being inspired. He brushed aside the rumours saying they are false reports.
