Manchu Manoj is Black Tiger?

Manchu family has approached star writer Vijayendra Prasad to pen a script for Manchu Manoj who is badly in need of success at the box-office. His last film Okkadu Migiladu was a disaster. The producer of Okkadu Migiladu organised a preview show at Prasad Labs and in the interval, he asked the office boy, “How many are left?” “Okkadu Miggalledu Sir,” was the reply.

Anyways, speculation is that the script prepared by Vijayendra Prasad is about the legendary Indian spy Ravinder Kaushik, a theatre artiste by profession who was sent by RAW into Pakistan as an undercover agent by the name of Nabi Ahmed Shakir at the age of 23.

Ravinder married a Pakistani girl and also had a daughter. He joined the Pakistan army, rose up the ranks and passed on critical information to India which made Indira Gandhi give him the name of ‘Black Tiger’.Ravinder’s cover was blown in 1983 and he was sentenced to death in 1985 but the punishment was later commuted to life imprisonment. He died in 2001 in New Central Multan Jail and was buried behind the jail.

The Indian authorities never acknowledged his existence for obvious reasons. This then is the story of Black Tiger, the hero of Mother India and it will be really interesting to see whether Manoj and Vijayendra Prasad bring this story to life on screen.

Manchu Vishnu will reportedly be producing the film.
