Modi Gadiki Cheppina – KCR Insults Modi?

Adding fuel to the ongoing rift between KCR and Narendra Modi over Singareni Collieries Company (as Centre vouches for privatization of coal mines), KCR’s latest comments at a public function (Rythu Samanvaya Samithi event in Hyd) referring PM Modi as ‘Modi gadiki’ drew severe flak from BJP leaders.

Speaking at the farmers Samithi, KCR attacked Modi and his government for its inaction to farmers woes. KCR said, “Modi Gadiki 20 Sarlu Cheppina. 20 Sarlu Letterlu Kuda Ichina. (Union Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Minister) Radha Mohan Singh Gariki Cheppina, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley Gariki Cheppina, Chief Finance Adviser to Government of India Arvind Subramanian Gariki Cheppina. But still there is zero response from them. There is no movement. They don’t even care for the practical issues.” These remarks of KCR ignite heated debate between BJP and TRS.

While a few supporters of KCR back him by claiming that it was “slip of tongue” moment  for KCR to say ‘Gadiki’ instead of ‘Gariki’ and not intentional, others allege that KCR had “intentionally” referred Modi with ‘disrespect’.

Naturally, KCR’s comments have not gone down well with BJP leaders who “find fault” with KCR for disrespecting Prime Minister despite being in a constitutionally responsible position – Chief Minister.

However, TRS top brass is unfazed with the cry of BJP leaders and maintain silence over the matter. Neither CMO nor TRS officials have responded on the issue.

In fact,  this wasn’t first for KCR to use such language towards Modi. Earlier, KCR had used such language during the poll campaign for 2014 general elections. Many political analysts say that this is why Modi doesn’t like KCR. But even KCR and his party is not bothered about Modi or BJP who has no significance in Telangana politics.

Even during the launch of Metro Rail in Hyderabad, Modi and KCR didn’t sit aside which caught many eyeballs. Looks like, KCR is bracing up for an open war against Modi and BJP, ahead of 2019 general polls.
