Like never before, national media has given a huge support to the cause of Chandrababu Naidu, AP against Modi-led Union Government. Right from pulling out TDP MPs from Modi’s cabinet to quitting NDA and declaring war by moving No Confidence Motion, national media has given a lot of significance with wide range of coverage, debates.
This is certainly a welcome change as very rarely national media come forward to support the issues of South. Neither KCR nor Jagan nor any other leaders in South got such a huge support from national media in very short span of time since the issue broke. Thanks to Naidu’s timely intervention and timely walk out of NDA – just right after BJP’s poll drubbing in UP, Bihar, Rajasthan by elections, the move get fireworks.
Opposition parties, who are waiting for a right opportunity to combat Modi, have all jumped in to support Naidu without seeking any support. This shows the great confidence of political parties cutting across regions on Naidu.
Even as Naidu himself has said that he is yet to speak to national political parties as his focus right now is on state’s benefits, the TDP’s No Confidence Motion is gaining support from all like-minded parties. At the same time, BJP, which hasn’t expected such huge response, has gone into damage-control mode. This is certainly Naidu’s moral victory over Modi. Let’s wait and watch, what is in store for AP.
