Nayak Vs SVSC – who wins Sankranthi race ?

Well, we are talking about the duel between the Sankranthi treats ‘Naayak’ and ‘Seetamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’. The question is, who among the two is the Sankranthi winner. Here are few reports making rounds to give an idea.

It is heard that in Eluru which has 11 theatres all screens were given to ‘Naayak’ on release day. But for ‘SVSC’ only 5 theatres were given while 6 were catered to ‘Naayak’. The entire town had only 2 films running. Statewide, around 500-600 theatres were given to ‘SVSC’ but ‘Naayak’ released in 1100 theatres.

Of course, this is due to the first release advantage. If ‘SVSC’ had come first it would have got more theatres. In ‘Naayak’ the comedy worked so repeat audience is there. For ‘SVSC’ there is no repeat audience but family audience are decided that they will come to theatres at any cost.

The talk is mixed but no one is saying it is a dud or very good. Nothing will stop public from going to the film that is for sure. Since there is no bad talk ‘SVSC’ remains safe. So if one has to know the real Sankranthi winner they will have to wait for a week.  For ‘SVSC’ the US collections will be high because of Mahesh factor. ‘Naayak’ may not work in that area but within state it will work well. overall, both might collect around Rs 45 cr- Rs 50 cr share.
