With Chandrababu Naidu once again gearing up to set his foot in national politics and none other than Mamata Banerjee has personally invited Naidu to lead the Opposition against Narendra Modi, speculations are rife that Chandrababu is one of the front runners for the PM post.
During his speech at Telangana Mahanadu, many party workers screamed saying “PM”, “PM”. Responding to those slogans, Naidu clarified on the aspirations of becoming Prime Minister.
“Telugu Jathi is my priority. I had said this 22 years ago that I’m not interested in becoming Prime Minister. Even today, I have same opinion. There is no change in it. Even if you shout such slogans with high pitch, those will not create any interest within me,” said Chandrababu Naidu.
With this, Chandrababu has made it clear that he is in the race of CM for Andhra Pradesh in 2019 as well and he is not elevating himself to national politics. This also directly ruled out rumours about Nara Lokesh being made the CM candidate. In fact, Lokesh too clarified on many platforms that his leader is his father Chandrababu Naidu and everyone including himself will work under his guidance. So, Babu will stay back in AP politics.
