Padmaavat Crossed Another Stunning Milestone

After getting entangled in a lot of controversies, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmaavat finally got released a month ago. We have to say that it created a sensation at Indian box office. The film features Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in lead roles and they have received huge appreciations from every nook of the country.

Now, even after 50 days of its release, the prestigious project has crossed a milestone and gave a tight slap to those who staged protests against its release. The movie has completed 50 days of its theatrical run and entered into the Rs 300 crore club with a collection of 300.26 crores ‘nett’ from across India. Though the film didn’t get released in four states including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Bihar, it managed to collect Rs 100 crores in first seven days of its release.

The film was an adaption of a Sufi poem titled Padmaavat and it dealt with the story of Alauddin Khilji and his infatuation with Rajput princess Padmaavati. Both Ranveer as antagonist and Deepika as the leading lady excelled quite well, while Shahid Kapoor as Maharaja impressed big time.

Now Padmaavat happens to be the seventh film in Bollywood to enter into 300 crore club zone after PK, Bajirangi Bhaijan, Sultan, Dangal and Tiger Zinda Hai. Sanjay’s Padmavat also failed like these six films to break the record set by SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Conclusion, which collected 500 crores.
