President approves Telangana Bill

President of India approved the Telangana Bill sent in by Union Cabinet a short while ago. The bill now will be tabled in Rajya Sabha tomorrow afternoon at 12 PM. Government is planning to suspend agitating MPs from Seema Andhra region and pass the bill tomorrow itself. Senior Congress ministers are holding a series of meetings with BJP leaders to ensure the support of the main opposition party when the bill is introduced.

On the other side, Both the houses of Parliament were stalled today on the Telangana issue. The Congress-led central government is determined to pass the bill through before the last session of their current term ends on February 21. The Congress party’s leadership believes that the move will be a vote-spinner in Telangana region.
