Those who come to Hyderabad for jobs and studying purposes, definitely they pass through this Punjagutta Circle at one time or the other. On one side of this circle lies the popular Central shopping mall and other side lies Punjagutta police station. Here is an interesting snippet of it.
In a survey conducted by the Quality Council of India and Ministry of Home Affairs, Punjagutta Police Station is declared as the second best one in the country. Adopting a uniform model of ranking police stations in the country basing on the quality of policing and citizen-friendly atmosphere, Union Ministry identified 10 best police stations.
While Punjagutta is the second best, first best police station ranking went to RS Puram police station (B-2) in Coimbatore, Tamilnadu. At the ‘All India Conference of Director Generals/Inspector Generals of Police -2017’ recently, these rankings are declared and a medal is conferred to the police station as well.
While Hyderabad police are on a high following such accreditation coming from Union Ministry immediately people started throwing facebook posts that a swift action on FIRs registered is not being taken up at this station. Well, that’s another discussion.
