Pushpa 2’s Target Quadrupled: ₹800 Cr Target on Cards

April 19, 2024

Allu Arjun continues to ride the success wave of Pushpa: The Rise. Pushpa 2 Mania, The much-anticipated sequel, Pushpa: The Rule, is grabbing headlines. The teaser itself broke records, and trade reports suggest the film’s theatrical rights have shattered expectations. Bollywood rights sold for a record-breaking ₹200 crore, while Telugu rights fetched ₹120 crore. This puts the movie on track for a potential gross collection of a whopping ₹800 crore.

The makers of the blockbuster movie Pushpa: The Rise are setting their sights high for the sequel. Pushpa 1, which released in December 2021, was a massive commercial success, grossing over ₹300 crores gross and earning the makers a share of over ₹150 crores net. However, Pushpa 2 seems poised to shatter those records.

Industry insiders report that the film’s theatrical rights have already been sold for a staggering sum. The Bollywood rights alone have been acquired for a whopping ₹200 crores, while the Telugu rights have fetched ₹120 crores. This means that even before its release, Pushpa 2 has recovered a significant portion of its production costs and is well on its way to becoming a major financial success.

With these sales, the makers are now aiming for a total gross collection of ₹800 crores, which would translate to a share of around ₹400 crores for the production house. This is a quadrupling of their target from the first film, highlighting the immense faith that distributors have placed in the Pushpa franchise.
