After wrapping the post-production work, Ram Charan’s latest movie “Rangasthalam” directly went to Censor Board and got certified with U/A. And here comes the bigger challenge as the Mega Powerstar passed this test very easily without many hiccups.
Long back 50 crores club used to be a tougher one and Ram Charan did it very easily. But then, the trend changed, film viewing experiences got changed and audiences are rushing to theatres if star heroes come up with interesting movies. And that’s how the 80 and 70 crore clubs have formed now. While Jr NTR and Mahesh entered 80 crore club with their commercial message-oriented films, Bunny is rocking in the 70 crore clubs.
Cut to Rangasthalam, the film has to collect 80 crores at any cost to be termed as a no loss venture. Sold for nearly 18 crores in Nizam, 12 crores in Ceeded and 5+ crores in East, the film totally made 62+ crores business in Telugu states. While Karnataka rights fetched 7.6 crores, Overseas theatricals are sold for 9 crores. On a whole, the film did 80+ crores business in all the territories across the globe.
Collecting 60+ crores from domestic market will be easy if the film gets hit talk, but the film has to collect nearly 2.5 million dollars to push Overseas distributor into no-loss mode. So Charan and Sukumar are having a big test ahead to prove their real stamina. Tollywood, brace yourselves!!
