The political drama in Tamil Nadu is taking interesting twists and turns with each passing day after the sensational verdict given by the Supreme Court against new chief of ruling AIADMK party and CM aspirant Sasikala.
After the SC has awarded four years sentence for Sasikala besides barring her from contesting the elections for 10 years, her dream of becoming the new ‘Amma’ and occupying the CM chair was shattered.
On the other hand, caretaker CM Panneerselvam is gaining popularity among masses but he still doesnt have the required majority to prove his strength in the Assembly. The reason for this is, Sasikala’s ploy of holding as many as 120 MLAs at he Golden Bay resorts in Chennai with the fear of losing them to OPS.
Latest reports suggest that 25 odd MLAs have asked permission of Chinnamma to get out of the resorts citing health grounds. An apprehensive Sasikla however allegedly refused to let them out as she is very much skeptical that they would join OPS’s camp. She instead offered to provide medical assistance inside the resorts only.
Interim, varying reports are coming out about the happenings inside the resorts. Some say that Sasikala is using booze to hold up the MLAs while others say that the leaders were not hostages and that they were voluntarily staying. The other day, news emerged that an MLA escaped and joined OPS’s camp.
