Akkineni Nagarjuna is a very acute and cautious producer, who is known for cost-effective film making. He is known to spend money only where it is necessary. But, his desperation to establish his younger son, Akhil as a mass hero is so big that he is reportedly breaking his principles and is showing willingness to pour in money.
After Akhil’s first two attempts – Akhil and Hello, a mass and a class film respectively proved to be commercial failures, for his third film, Nag wanted to rope in a star director who can make a class film with substantial mass elements. The first name in his list was Koratala Siva.
It is heard that Nag offered a whopping Rs 15 Cr remuneration to Koratala to direct Akhil’s 3rd film. At one point, it was strongly speculated that Koratala will direct #Akhil3 after completing “Bharat Ane Nenu”. The “Srimanthudu” director however turned down Nag’s offer politely, citing that he had prior commitments with other heroes.
Nagarjuna then held discussions with several directors before finalizing Venky Atluri, who made a promising debut with his debut film, “TholiPrema”, to helm #Akhil3.
