A picture speaks 1000 words and this particular picture is speaking words beyond any expressible limits of a human brain. A heart-rending one we have to say as the death toll in Sterlite Protests that is shaking Tamilnadu’s Thoothukudi region and this picture will not fade away anytime soon.
While 10 protesters are shot dead other day, even on Wednesday morning firing has happened, where reports say that one person is dead. And that picture shows how police personnel are standing over a truck and posing like a specialist sniper camping in Iraq or Syria to gun down terrorists.
Despite the fact that Tamilnadu CM Palaniswami ordered for a special inquiry by a retired judge regarding the police action that took place at Thoothukudi, still, the unrest around the premises of Sterlite are not coming to a still. What’s more brutal is that police are climbing tempo travelers vans like commandos with assault rifles in hand and trying to murder the protesters.
There is neither a warning, nor tear gas usage, nor firing water cannons, but directly police resorted to firing that too not below the waist as per the rule and codebook.
