Supreme Court Stands By Deepika Padukone

Censoring and release of “Padmavati” took a gradual beating and the film has to postpone from December 1st, 2017 to January 25th, 2018 owing to the death threats and warnings. At a time when Sanjay Leela Bhansali is gearing up for a release, this Deepika Padukone starrer got another shock.

In the form of states like Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Haryana, Padmavati received a shocker even after the name of the film is changed to “Padmavat”. These states have banned the release of the film in the name of not to hurt the sentiments of Rajput caste people. Without even watching the movie and even after Censor Board gave its approval for release, these states acted tough on this film.

However, today Supreme Court pronounced verdict in the petition filed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali against this ban imposed by states. Staying the notifications issued by various states, today SC mentioned that the film should be released as planned and no other state would be able to issue any such notification against the movie. Definitely, this is a big relief for Padmavat makers.

Early in the morning, Madhya Pradesh government showed its love for Rajput caste people by issuing another order that strict action will be taken against people who play Padmvat songs in any event. But Supreme Court’s order would come as a stunning punch on the face for these haters.
