Nithin’s highly anticipated spy thriller ‘LIE’ is turning out to be a major disappointment at box office. The film couldn’t rake in decent moolah even over the 5-day extended weekend.
As per trade reports, LIE collected a meager 7 crore share in the Telugu states in the 5-day weekend. Below is the break up of share:
Nizam – 2,76,00,000
Ceded – 82,00,000
Nellore – 25,00,000
Guntur – 58,77,649
Krishna – 56,52,210
West – 31,20,000
East – 64,00,000
Uttharandhra – 1,00,00,000
Total 5 days AP & TG share – 6.93 crore
Considering the high budget invested on this ambitious thriller, LIE has been termed a disaster by trade experts. Neither the extensive promotions being done by the makers nor the holidays helped the film to put up a decent show at box office. Competition from two other biggies further hampered the prospects of LIE.
We however need to wait for one more week to see where the film ends up.
