Waffle House Shootings: Murder Suspect Arrested

After a long day hunt for the suspect in Waffle House shootings the other day in Nashville area of Tennessee, a tip from the local community led to arrest of Travis Reinking around at 1 PM Monday near Nashville apartment complex.

Suspect Travis Reinking is accused of pulling out his firearm and killing four people at Waffle house. All the people who lost lives are aged under 30. Reinking unloaded as assault style rifle in restaurant in Antioch on Sunday morning. Schools in Nashville area started lock-out procedures to avoid unwanted incidents, after the recent shootings in schools in recent past.

Reportedly, Reinking did not oppose or resist the arrest when detective found him and pulled his gun on him. He asked for a lawyer and declined to give a statement. He was a carrying a backpack with a firearm, Ammunition and a flash light. The motive of killings remains unrevealed.

Reinking opened fire outside waffle house killing two people, before he entered the restaurant killing two more. A customer James Shaw Jr stopped him from killing more people by wrestling him till Reinking tossed his gun on counter and fled the scene.

Reinking reportedly had a delusional episode and believes that pop star Taylor Twist was stalking him. He even made comments about killing himself, according to his family. Reinking’s Illinois firearms authorization was revoked and four weapons were seized.

After the shooting on Sunday early morning, Reinking ran from the scene completely naked, according to police, must have got a pair of pants from his apartment and then may have escaped to woods.

Victims who were fatally shot outside the restaurant, 29 year old Waffle House employee Taurean C. Sanderlin, and customer Joe R. Perez, 20, of Nashville.Inside the restaurant, the gunman killed two more people, 23-year-old Akilah Dasilva and 21-year-old DeEbony Groves.
