YSR Congress Party MP from Araku Parliament constituency Kothapalli Geetha has floated her own political outfit. The new political party has been named as ‘Jana Jagruti Party’. She said the prime objective of the party is to involve more women in politics and said that JJP would work towards women empowerment and their progress.
She stressed the need to empower women stating that the development of women is the development of a family. On the eve of the party’s launch, Geetha announced that her new party would allocate 33 percent of the seats in Assembly/Parliament to women members. She said her political party would conduct an unbiased social audit for its legislative members, leaders once in every six months to have transparency in politics.
Geetha has submitted her resignation to her MP post and submitted it to the Speaker on August 21st. She said she started her political party only after resigning to her post that she got from YCP.
The party flag has striking resemblences with YSRCP flag that comes as a shock to Jagan and his aides. Geetha has criticized that YSRCP is not allowing the elected members to attend the Assembly/Parliament and said which is against the spirit of the constitution and democracy. She even lashed out at the ruling TDP by stating that only Nara Lokesh has got the “job” after Chandrababu Naidu came to power. Geetha expressed her angst that corruption has become rampant in Andhra Pradesh.
