Ever since Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas aka Bellamkonda Srinivas made his debut with Alludu Seenu, the one most-heard complaint against him is – his romance with top heroines in films, and super extravaganza. In an exclusive chat, Gulte quizzed Srinivas ahead of the release of his film Jaya Janaki Nayaka on August 11.
Romancing Top Heroines
I’m a young hero with no fan base. Certainly, I need top heroines to reach to as many as people. Yes, I need top heroines. What is wrong in it?
Also by acting alongside with them ( who have done many films and have good experience), I could improve my acting. I could improve my performance and learn a lot of things. This is really good thing. It is always best to be surrounded by talented artists. They always challenge you and we need to give our best on par with them. Acting with Rakul in Jaya Janaki Nayaka is also one such experience. She has made me better my skill. Not just heroines, acting with Jagapathi Babu garu, Sarath sir, Vani madam is best experience. And above all, audience enjoy when they see great cast on screen.
On Boyapati Sreenu
Boyapati garu is the best thing happened to me. On sets, I was never treated as a young hero. I’ve been treated very well. Even co-actors treated me as ‘Star’ because am ‘Boyapati’s Hero’ – a ‘larger than life’ role. That gave me an extra confidence which is really needed on sets to do powerful role.
After pack-up, am usual again. I’m normal. But I have to be so confident to carry off the role. My confidence has increased after doing this film. Now, I could say, I am ready to act with any director.
Burden of High-Budget?
Not exactly. We are very confident on film’s content. Also, my debut film was made with bigger budget and extravaganza. So, I got used to it. Audience welcome a film that treats them with good story, visuals, grandeur. So, there is no sense of burden on me that the film’s budget is high.
Also, I should thank producer Miryala Ravinder Reddy garu who believed in me totally and invested so much. And it is all visible on screen. For viewers, JJN is going to be a visual feast.
Father’s Support
My father (Bellamkonda Suresh) has taken my dream as his own dream. Very rare. He is very very encouraging, supportive. Since childhood, he used to give a lot of importance to my decisions. I’ve been his editing friend. He took my suggestions for many of his productions. Our bond is very great. We are more like friends. In fact, my friends are always envy of my father’s affection to me. My whole family has been very supportive. My mother, younger brother and of course my dad all are excited about the film.
I want to make him happy by proving myself. I want to tell him that I’ll be happy if he is happy. I hope Jaya Janaki Nayaka success is going to make him so happy.
