Chinmayi Sripada, known for standing firm in her convictions, recently found herself at the center of a controversy related to the film Draupathi 2. The singer had earlier recorded the song “Emkoney” for the movie, unaware of the film’s context and storyline.

After learning that Draupathi 2 is based on the historical book Moondram Vallalla Maharaja, Chinmayi issued a public apology, stating that the song’s context did not align with her personal beliefs and ideologies. She also apologized to composer Ghibran for putting him in an unforeseen situation.

Following her statement, the makers of Draupathi 2 decided to replace Chinmayi’s rendition of “Emkoney” with a new singer. They confirmed that the final print of the film would feature the revised version.

Director Mohan G also addressed the situation, emphasizing that the matter has been resolved amicably. Despite initial public scrutiny directed at the director and the film team, both sides reached a mutual understanding.

With the controversy behind them, Draupathi 2 has received clearance from the Censor Board and is slated for an upcoming theatrical release.
