Akshaye Khanna has firmly established himself as a sensational star rather than just a seasonal actor, thanks to his latest outing, ‘Dhurandhar’, which continues to draw nationwide acclaim for his dynamic performance.

Amidst this wave of success, a tussle around ‘Drishyam 3’ recently made headlines, prompting director Abhishek Pathak to address the media and clear the air. Reports had claimed that Akshaye Khanna wanted to wear a wig and make changes to his character’s dynamics, and when disagreements arose, he allegedly walked out of the project. Speculation also suggested that he demanded a remuneration hike following Dhurandhar’s box office triumph.

Clarifying the situation, Abhishek Pathak stated, “All this happened after the contract was signed in November. He left the movie five days before it was going on the floors. My film starts from the point where Drishyam 2 ended and he comes back with hair. How is it possible?” He added that matters have now been sorted out, with Ajay Devgn leaving all decisions to him.

Regarding Jaideep Ahlawat’s involvement, Pathak confirmed that Jaideep has been brought in as a new character and is not a replacement for Akshaye Khanna.

The Drishyam franchise remains one of the most successful pan-Indian franchises, with Ajay Devgn leading the Hindi version. The third installment is now slated for release on October 2, 2026, generating high anticipation among fans.
