Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra continue to set couple goals. Since tying the knot in 2018, their relationship has often been under public scrutiny, with critics focusing on their intercultural marriage, age gap, and different backgrounds.

In a recent interview with Variety, Chopra opened up about the hurtful reactions and how the couple chose to focus on each other rather than public opinion. “We’re eight years in. If people want to keep waiting for it to implode, that’s their choice,” she said. “I stopped thinking about it. I don’t know what it was about us that rubbed people the wrong way—different countries, religions, age gap. It was very hurtful. Instead of looking outside, we just looked at each other and said, ‘It doesn’t matter.’ Now it’s like water off a duck’s back.”

Chopra reflected on how quickly their relationship progressed, noting they married within six months of meeting. “When I first married him, I didn’t even know if this part of him was real. I thought, this is crazy, this has to be put on. But Nick has this absolute sincerity. It inspires me every day in a profession where you constantly have to adapt and perform,” she said, praising Jonas’ upbringing and values as rare and disarming.

On the professional front, Chopra is set to make her Telugu cinema debut with Varanasi, directed by S. S. Rajamouli, starring alongside Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film is scheduled for release on April 7, 2027. She also has the second season of Citadel in the pipeline and will next be seen in The Bluff.
