Universal hero Kamal Haasan, who has been embroiled in controversy after controversy for past few years, has landed in a fresh trouble.
A Dalit party in Tamil Nadu has sent a Rs 100 crore defamation notice to Kamal Haasan, who is hosting the Bigg Boss Tamil reality show, the channel that is airing the show and a contestant named Gayathri Raghuram for allegedly making derogatory comments on the show.
The notice accuses Raghuram of using the word ‘Cheri’ (slum dweller), against a co-contestant, thus hurting the sentiments of some underprivileged sections of the society. The complainant in the notice accused Kamal Haasan of not objecting to Raguhram’s choice of words.
The notice demanded an “unconditional apology” from Kamal, the TV channel and the named contestant within seven days or Rs 100 crore , compensation for hurting sentiments.
