As the Prime minister Narendra Modi hinted the reshuffle of the union cabinet in one or two days, TDP President and AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s close confidants CM Ramesh and another MP G Rammohan Rao are trying their luck this time. Though Ramesh hailed from Rayalseema region, he was allotted to Telangana as part of the division of the Rajya Sabha MPs between Telangana and AP after the bifurcation of the state. Sources said Naidu proposed Ramesh and Rammohan Rao’s names in the list of aspirants for minister posts from Telugu Desam.
The BJP led NDA is also seriously considering the demand to induct one TDP MP from Telangana in the cabinet as the union minister for Labour Bandaru Dattatraya was the lone member representing from T state in the union cabinet.The NDA partner TDP has been given two minister posts ie Civil Aviation minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju and union minister of state for Science and Technology Sujana Chowdary, both hailed from Andhra Pradesh.
Another MP and senior most Telangana TDP leader T Devendar Goud was out of the race for the berth on health grounds.Naidu promised to give a top post to Ramesh who stood by the AP CM in the difficult times faced the party before coming to power in 2014 elections. Before foraying into active politics, Ramesh, elected as MP in 2012, was one of the noted industrialists in the undivided Andhra Pradesh.
