Megastar Amitabh Bachchan expressed immense pride in his son Abhishek Bachchan after the latter won the Best Actor award at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) for his role in I Want to Talk. The festival, which began on Thursday, will run until August 24. Amitabh shared photos of Abhishek on his personal blog, including one of him holding the award and another featuring him on a magazine cover.

In his heartfelt post, Amitabh wrote, “The happiest father in the entire universe… Abhishek, you are the pride and honour of the family. You carry forward the legacy established by Dadaji with courage, dedication, and consistency. Despite challenges, you never gave up and proved your talent through sheer hard work. Being recognized as the first artist in Melbourne is a monumental achievement, and no gift could be bigger for a father than this.”

He also reflected on past criticisms he faced for publicly praising his son. “Years ago, I had expressed my excitement over one of your performances, and some ridiculed me for my parental pride. Today, that scorn has been replaced by respect and admiration. Victory is the answer to many challenges, and you, Abhishek, have shown this with your unwavering dedication. With all my love, I am an incredibly proud father,” he concluded.
