30,000 Crore target for AP Sarkar?

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in India, the central government has imposed lockdown all over the country and we are under lockdown 3.0 which will end by May 17th. From March 23rd to May 3rd, no liquor shop was opened in the country in that 40-day lockdown period.

Now, for the past three days, the wine sales in the country went sky high, especially in Andhra Pradesh the government made sure that they would be compensated enough to the economic loss the happened due to the lockdown period.

75% of the liquor prices have been raised in Andhra Pradesh and till now, about Rs.100 crores is believed as the amount that was generated through the liquor sales all over the sate as of now. Now, the excise-department are expecting a Rs.30,000 crore income from the liquor sales along this year.

If the quantity of liquor that is being sold meets the exact quantity that was purchased last year in AP, there will be an additional Rs.13,000 crores profit to the government. Overall, at that quantity, it accounts for Rs.36,500 crores out of which 84% will be collected by the AP government in the form of various taxes which will leave them a grand income of Rs.30,000 crores.
